Well, it looks like Forrest Gump director Robert Zemeckis is making another feel-good life-story epic for those nostalgic about the past. Who better to star in the film than the beloved duo who played Forrest and Jenny? Here, co-written by Zemeckis and Gump writer Eric Roth, follows every major event that befalls a plot of land somewhere in America. The film is based on the Richard McGuire graphic novel of the same name. In the trailer, we see the asteroid striking the dinosaurs, what appears to be a Native American woman walking through forest, Europeans colonizing Indigenous territory (there’s no shots of the genocidal violence of Manifest Destiny), and the modern era. This is where we meet Tom Hanks and Robin Wright’s characters as a digitally de-aged teenage couple, and, much like Forrest Gump, we follow their characters as they marry, have children, and grow old in the house built on that same land. Laugh, cry, and be weirded out by uncanny de-aging technology in theaters November 15.
