During his acceptance speech at the 2025 Film Independent Spirit Awards, Jesse Eisenberg made sure to thank his producer, Emma Stone. Eisenberg won Best Screenplay for A Real Pain, which Stone produced (and famously reverse-psychology’d Kieran Culkin to keep him on the project). “It’s so important that somebody like her who is unbelievably successful looks for people like me with all the goodwill that she’s amassed over the last several years,” he said. “I think about her not as my producer, but like a fairy godmother, that I am riding the coattails of her goodwill … Thanks, Emma.”
Stone is one of many stars who have become low-key moguls on the production side of the biz. Margot Robbie’s LuckyChap is behind not just the Robbie-starring Barbie but Emerald Fennell joints like Saltburn and the upcoming Wuthering Heights. And a last-minute financing move from Eva Longoria is the only reason we have the John Wick films today. Stone runs Fruit Tree with husband Dave McCary. The company previously worked with Eisenberg on his directorial debut, When You Finish Saving the World.
