It was a box-office battle royal, but the bros ultimately won. It Ends With Us, the Blake Lively–starring Colleen Hoover film adaptation, came to theaters on August 9, and it was a swing and a hit. In case anybody was wondering: BookTok is ready to make the cross over into moviedom. Still, Lily Bloom didn’t quite manage to eke out a No. 1 spot in the box office over the boys. Below, find a full rundown of this big box-office weekend.

It Ends With Us

Rankings be damned — the Justin Baldoni–directed It Ends With Us did really well, particularly for a movie in the romantic-drama genre, which is not a genre that hits theaters often of late. The movie grossed $50 million domestically and $80 million globally on a reported $25 million budget, per Variety. Get ready for It Starts With Us, in theaters as soon as they can get Justin Baldoni and Blake Lively in the same room together again.

Deadpool & Wolverine

Despite a high gross from that romance, Deadpool & Wolverine still managed to hold on to the top spot. That movie managed $54 million. While no one should be Barbenheimer-ing these movies — one is about domestic violence, and one is about comedic violence — it is way more fun to see how the Lively-Reynolds household is taking over the box office.

Wait, does Borderlands matter?

Thinking of the nicest way to say no …
