After Kamala Harris lost the presidential election, many on the left have been dreaming of a “liberal Joe Rogan†— some nebulous progressive podcaster with the same sway as the Joe Rogan Experience host, who chopped it up with Donald Trump weeks before the election. Well, how about an NFL WAG? Kylie Kelce, wife of Jason (and sister-in-law of Travis), recently booted Joe Rogan from his No. 1 perch on Spotify and Apple with her new podcast, Not Gonna Lie. And maybe more surprisingly, she told the New York Times that her views “aggressively lean†left — countering speculation that her family might be Republican. “I would talk to Michelle Obama in a heartbeat, and I know she is not personally running,†Kelce said. “But I would love it if she would.†She’d also reportedly welcome Josh Shapiro, governor of her home state of Pennsylvania, onto the pod. And like her counterpart, she’s not worried about offending listeners by saying that: “I don’t care what other people have to say.â€
As for her feat, Kelce said she “couldn’t care less about the charts†and reportedly refused to mention Rogan specifically. (And, as the Times noted, Rogan still has her significantly beat in Spotify followers, with 16.3 million to her 172,000.) But she is eager to prove sports media and podcast bros who doubt her podcasting ability wrong. “That’s getting me going,†Kelce said.
