(Coquettishly) “Is there a MrsBeast?” Not yet, but there will be! MrBeast, real name Jimmy Donaldson, proposed to fellow YouTuber Thea Booysen on Christmas Day. Donaldson and Booysen waited to share the news until the new year, with matching his & her social media blasts. “Ya boy did a thing 🥰🥰🥰,” MrBeast captioned his Instagram post. Wearing matching Christmas sweaters, Donaldson got on one knee to pop the question, a much easier physical challenge than anything seen on Beast Games.
According to People, Booysen met Beast when the latter was visiting the former’s home country of South Africa. “Jimmy was coming down to South Africa with Logan Paul and Casey Neistat and they had a video they wanted to film in Antarctica. Everybody got COVID so they had to cancel the video and stay in South Africa a little bit longer,” she said. “He was super nice, very down to earth and he started asking me a lot of questions. Little did I know he was going off a list because he was looking for a new girlfriend.” Booysen is a gamer, owning South African esports org Nixuh.
Booysen has defended Donaldson during his recent controversies. In August, old video of MrBeast using homophobic and racist language surfaced. And contestants on Beast Games sued MrBeast, alleging unpaid wages, sexual harassment, and mistreatment. In response to a YouTube comment urging Booysen to dump “the Beast,” Boysen stood by her man. “I appreciate the message. There is so much that is not being said, I wish I could talk more about the situation. Half the things that are said are not true, I wouldn’t be with him if they were,” she wrote. “It is so important to me to be a good person. Hopefully things will be fixed soon, but for now I’m focusing on my studies and trying to stay away from everything.”
