Shocker. None of the couples from Perfect Match season two made it out alive. After spending ten episodes where the cast paraded around that they were the realest of all the deals, Netflix posted a “Where are they now?†video, revealing that none of the cast members stayed together after the show wrapped last year. It makes sense; no one from the first season lasted long either, and being popular and likable is kind of the whole point of the show, not leaving with a relationship. There are no real stakes like marriage being dangling in front of them. However, a few left their relationships sincerely heartbroken; one even cried when discussing their break-up. What happened to everyone when they left the Tulum bubble? Here’s why every couple from Perfect Match broke up, straight from the conflicting sources.
Two Couples Felt Paranormal Forces (Ghosting)
Stevan and Alara
Despite making plans to move to the other side of the pond to be together, Alara told Netflix that Stevan ghosted her once they returned home. “I don’t want to get emotional. I was ready to move to LA, or he was ready to come to London. We were looking at apartments,†she explains while getting emotional. He later reached out to her to apologize but she quickly blocked him.
Bryton and Elys
These two seem to be on entirely different pages. Elys claims Bryton ghosted her and didn’t understand why, while Bryton claims the relationship quickly became “rocky†because he “started to see a personality that [he] didn’t get to see on screen.†Plus, he says she apparently spam-messaged him after he ghosted her. So what’s the truth? Elys thinks not everyone was there for the right reasons, but the big prize at the end was a vacation, so any reason to get on the show was probably valid.
Three Couples Aren’t on the Same Page
Tolú and Chris
Chris remains baffled about why he and Tolú didn’t work out and blamed it on long distance. But she, similarly to Bryton’s reasoning, got a peak “behind the curtain†of the person she was dating. “I didn’t like the man behind the curtain. So respectfully, I stayed away,†she explains, without getting into specifics.
Micah and Kaz
“She truly hates me,†claimed Kaz as he shared that he and Micah have a “non-existent†relationship. “We had a little argument which escalated and it kind of turned into finding out a bit of information. She thought that I had kissed someone, another participant on the show.†Both claim they ended the relationship and walked away because the other person was chatting up someone else.
Christine and Nigel
While the winners of Perfect Match were in sync on the show, they had conflicting reports once they separated. In his first take, Nigel tells Netflix that their relationship is “rocky†and they’re still working on fixing it. But Christine says otherwise. “My relationship with Nigel now, it’s done. I tried to interfere and suggested us to couples therapy and do things that would help the relationship, but nothing was sticking.†However, during his second take at a confessional, Nigel changed his story, claiming Christine “broke [his] trust†and that they’re actually over.
One Couple Is Amicable Despite Not Talking
Harry and Jess
After breaking up after one week in the real world, Harry and Jess maintain that they have “no bad blood†despite seeing their current friendship differently. Harry says they “still have an amazing relationship,†while Jess shares they “haven’t kept in contact.†He’d probably need to pack an Epipen before reaching out.
