Saturday Night Live is adding in three more cast members for its 50th season. Emil Wakim, Ashley Padilla, and Jane Wickline will be joining as featured players for the upcoming season premiere on September 28. Wakim is a comedian from Chicago who’s based in Brooklyn and one of our “Comedians You Should and Will Know†for 2024. Padilla is an improviser from The Groundlings’s Main Stage Company who grew up in the Bay Area and has been seen on Night Court and Curb Your Enthusiasm. Wickline is a sketch performer who gained a following on TikTok with 45.5 million likes and was a cast member of Stapleview, a live sketch show on the app.
With this announcement comes the news that Chloe Troast will be departing SNL, after one season on the cast. Troast confirmed the departure on Instagram, writing: “I wish I was going back to be with all the amazing friends I made there, it truly felt like home. But it wasn’t in the cards.†This comes a few weeks after Punkie Johnson and Molly Kearney announced their departures from the show. Season 50 has a total of 17 cast members this year— see how the newbies will bring their flavor to the upcoming season below.
