Georges Seurat was a French painter. He was born in 1859 in Paris, France and died in 1891.

He is well-known for a style of painting called pointillism.

Pointillism is when painters use dots or marks of colour to create paintings.

To make dots, you will need to choose the right type of brush.
Different brushes will create different marks.
You can always try a few brushes out before you decide on the best one for your pointillist painting.
Pointillist painters didn't only use dots. They also used marks or dashes .
These paintings look different from a distance because your eyes do the job of mixing the colours.
