*The two kids and their teacher are floating in space. *
TEACHER: Hello you two! I suppose you’re wondering where we're at.
THOMAS: Uh, yeah… do you think we could turn a light on?
TEACHER: I’ve a feeling if we wait a little minute we’ll get some light. Today we’re going to learn about how Christians believe God is the creator of all things! In the Bible, it says that God created the world in seven days. And on the first day He created… light!
The dark space lightens.
NORA: That’s much better, I can see my feet again!
TEACHER: On the next day, God made the Earth and the blue sky.
*Brown earth pops on screen beneath their feet, and blue sky appears behind them. *
TEACHER: Then on the third day, He created the oceans and rivers, and plants to cover the land.
*As the teacher speaks these things appear on the screen. We see grass, trees and a pond. *
THOMAS: Now this is looking more like the Earth I know!
TEACHER: On the fourth day God created the sun, moon and stars.
The sun pops on screen, then the night sky swoops across to reveal the moon and stars.
NORA: That was class!
TEACHER: After that, God made creatures in the sea and air.
*A fish pops its head out of the water and looks at the children. *
THOMAS/NORA: Wow! Look at that!
TEACHER: On the sixth day, God created creatures to live on the land.
Two sheep comically pop up and start grazing.
TEACHER: By then, God had finished creating. So on the seventh day, the Sunday, He had a well-deserved break! This is why Sundays are a special day of rest for Christians too.
NORA: I don’t blame Him! I’m getting sleepy just watching it all!
Nora yawns and everybody laughs.

Making something special
Have you ever made something special, like a beautiful drawing or a model?
Perhaps you made it for someone else and you hope that they will take care of it.
Christians believe that God made our world and everything in it. He gave it to us because He loves us.

The creation story
Christians believe God created the world in seven days.
Each day He made another part of the world.
He created light to make night and day and all the land, sky, and oceans.
He made humans, animals and all living things.
On the seventh day, God rested. Christians believe that this day, Sunday, is a special day. It is a day of rest when many Christians will attend church.

Our responsibility
God gave humans the special job of caring for the animals and the world.
What can we do to look after God’s creation?
How can we care for living things and our planet?

Now that you have learned about the Christian Creation story, discover the Christian belief that God gave His Son Jesus to the world.
