What is Vida the Vet about?

Vida cares about a lot of things. She cares about her family, friends, and school. She cares about books and stories; and spends hours dreaming up imaginary worlds. But most of all, Vida cares about animals. Vida loves creatures of all shapes and sizes and thinks snakes and rodents are just as cute as puppies and kittens. For as long as she can remember, Vida has dreamt of being a veterinarian. When Vida’s family moved from a big city to a rustic home in Sweetwood, her dream came true.

Where does Vida the Vet live?

Vida lives at the edge of Sweetwood - a forest only accessible through a tiny door found in the shrubs at the far end of her backyard. When she and her pet hamster, Popcorn make their way through the door, they discover that Sweetwood is home to an eclectic group of endearing animals - where she is Vida the Vet!

How can Vida the Vet help my child’s learning development?

Vida: How old is Vida the Vet?

Vida is a 10-year-old girl with a big heart and a big love for animals of all kinds. She is a curious and caring vet who loves to make the animals feel better.

Popcorn: What kind of animal is Popcorn?

Popcorn is Vida’s pet hamster. He’s got a BIG personality and a happy-go-lucky attitude! He helps at the clinic, encourages Vida and keeps her on schedule with his pen and checklist.

Koa: What kind of animal is Koa?

Koa is a sweet, large but gentle tiger. He is enthusiastic and loves sugary treats. He cares about his friends deeply and is so lovable. Koa lives in his majestic tiger-faced rock home.

Zigzag: What kind of animal is Zigzag?

Zigzag is a thrill-seeking, high-energy bunny that lives in a cozy hutch in Sweetwood. She loves to race but is prone to injury from moving too fast. Zigzag has ADHD – so she fidgets sometimes, but it gives her resilience and creativity.

Juno: What kind of animal is Juno?

Juno’s an adorable baby hippo, who knows exactly what she wants. She loves Vida and likes to stop by her office for a quick hug and is always giggling at Popcorn's silly antics. She spends her time in her stone home below the waterfall.

The Mouse Family: What kind of animals are Sunny and Baby Mouse?

Sunny is a young four-year-old mouse who seems wise beyond his years. He's sweet and precocious, often chiming in with witty comments and clever jokes.

Baby Mouse is the youngest member of the Mouse family. A super sweet, beyond adorable baby mouse who's almost always smiling. This little baby doesn't talk, but she does make endearing gurgling squeak-like noises that are sure to melt your heart.

Fergie: What kind of animal is Fergie?

Fergie is a scatterbrained, oblivious little squirrel who lives in a tree stump which features a handy ramp for her back wheels. She loves to pull pranks, but she’s comically selfish, a classic hoarder and takes and stores objects for later, only to forget where they are. Vida is amused by her foolish antics.

Tidbit: What kind of animal is Tidbit?

Tidbit is a sensitive little turtle. He’s a bit of a worrier about Vida's other patients too. Tidbit can be shy but enjoys doing kind gestures and is a nurturer. He loves to tend to his plants outside his home.

Otto: What kind of animal is Otto?

Otto is a very laid back, and nonchalant bear. Even when a serious situation presents itself, Otto goes about solving the problem in a very calm and collected way, sure everything will somehow work its way out. He’s the ultimate optimist.

Kipp is a clever, sharp minded Fennec Fox who lives in a sweet desert-inspired home. He hears everything with those huge ears so keeps everyone in Sweetwood up to date on the latest news.

Pippen: What kind of animal is Pippen?

Pippen is a bright and spunky koala who lives in a bungalow with her family. She’s all about musical theatre, and loves to sing, dance, and put on shows for her friends and family.
