What should I do if I see a fake BBC website or email?

We sometimes receive reports of potential ‘fake’ BBC websites (designed to look like an official BBC site), or ‘fake’ emails claiming to be from the BBC.

These can be malicious and pose a threat to your safety online. If you think you have received a fake email or found a fake website, you should not reply to them or open any links in them.

If you have been the victim of fraud from one of these websites, you can report it on the police's Action Fraud website where you can also find information on how to protect yourself from fraud and cyber crime.

If you'd like to check if a website or email you've found is legitimate, you can use the Get more help button below to provide us details on what you have found.
