Billionaire businessman and former New York mayor Michael Bloomberg will officially endorse Hillary Clinton for president in a prime-time speech at the Democratic National Convention this week. The New York Times reports that the one-time Democrat, then Republican, and now independent — who himself heavily considered running for president earlier this year out of fears that Donald Trump and Bernie Sanders would be the nominees — wants to make a moderate case for Clinton and against Trump “from the perspective of a business leader and independent,” according to one of his advisors. Bloomberg endorsed Barack Obama in 2012, but only in an op-ed column. His address seems to be scheduled for Wednesday night, as are speeches from President Obama and Vice-President Biden.
