You look very patriotic.
I got these pants in Paris. All my trousers are pretty crazy, but these are definitely the wildest.

What are your plans for the Fourth of July?
Go to the beach, be on the water. On the North Fork, probably.

Will you get wild?
It’s on a Wednesday this year, so I wouldn’t want to mess up the rest of the week with a three- or four-day hangover. Also, I have a 2-year-old daughter, so it’s not like it used to be.

Are you originally from New York?
No, Georgia. My backyard was like a summer camp. We could shoot guns; I even had a motorcycle.

Will you take your daughter hunting when she grows up?
I would like to. I’d like to have her experience everything I’ve done at least once—and that’s a very long list.

What else is on the short list?
Drive a boat, sail a sailboat, build her own fire, go on a good road trip. And take her to the SEC football championships. A big football game where there’s a lot on the line.

Do you think she’ll be good at sports?
I think so. I’ve always been pretty athletic myself, so she’ll get some of that from me.
