Tiffany & Co.
The time capsule that is Tiffany’s main floor is getting the gentlest of makeovers next year; in the coming weeks, shoppers will see the first stage realized, as a new revolving front door replaces the original. In the spring, the display cases will be reconfigured to enable prolonged diamond-gazing. If all goes well, you won’t notice a thing: Tiffany’s swears the façade will appear exactly as it always has, for those wishing to live out an Audrey Hepburn moment.

Tod’s
Those soft, super-comfy driving moccasins just keep selling, and Tod’s is tripling its retail space, to 6,000 square feet surrounded by paneling covered in the firm’s signature vacchetta leather. The line’s limited-edition products like pony Astrakhan jackets, crocodile bags, and exotic furs will all be here; so will a new line of accessories, like those wait-listed croc cuff bracelets. A clothing line for men and women, designed by Derek Lam, is on the way for 2006, which explains the expanded store’s dressing rooms.

Hickey Freeman
A certain kind of conservative Wall Streeter will wear almost nothing but Hickey Freeman, so why not bring the store to him? Set to open in a landmark building at Broadway and Pine Street this month, the new space dedicates 2,500 square feet to sportswear, dress furnishings, and clothing for boys. But the chief draw for those picky power brokers will be a made-to-measure shop, piled high with premium bolts and swatches (vicuña, cashmere, Super 180s wool). Made-to-measure suits start at $1,395.
