Clay Spa
25 W. 14th St., nr. Fifth Ave., second fl.; 212-206-9200
Overlooking Union Square, this rooftop features a posh setup for outdoor massages. A private cabana houses two massage tables for full-body work, while outdoor seats are stationed beneath bamboo trees for chair massages with optional arm and leg add-ons. Post-treatment, snack on organic yogurt at the umbrella-topped tables or snag a lounge chair near one of four misting fans.

Gansevoort Spa & Lounge
18 Ninth Ave., at 13th St.; 212-660-6733
At G Spa’s 1,113-square-foot penthouse garden, manicures and pedicures (like the Pomegranate Pedicure Glow) come with open-air views of the Empire State Building. For pinpointed tension relief, the signature Hit the Spot massage—a blend of Swedish, deep tissue, and acupressure—is available in the roof’s private cabana. Afterward, cocktails are served in the garden’s outdoor bar.

Cornelia Day Resort
663 Fifth Ave., nr. 52nd St., eighth fl.; 212-871-3050
Starting June 1, Cornelia will offer manicures, pedicures, and Thai massages on its ninth-floor rooftop, lined by river birch and bamboo. Until then, visitors to the spa and downstairs David Evangelista salon can sip a seasonal cocktail here after any appointment.

33 E. 61st St., nr. Madison Ave., third fl.; 212-935-6261
This converted brownstone’s secluded 400-square-foot terrace overlooks the spa’s intimate sundeck, featuring a fountain and potted hydrangeas and petunias. Manicures and pedicures are available on the juniper-lined terrace, where a shaded table provides a peaceful place to chat and dry your nails.

Gravity Fitness & Spa
119 W. 56th St., nr. Sixth Ave.; 212-708-7340
This spacious sundeck on the 42nd floor is a welcome escape from the treadmill-pounders in the fitness center below. Reflexology treatments and chair massages are given in a secluded corner of the deck, which also includes a 40-foot glass-enclosed pool with views of Central Park. In mid-June, the spa will unveil a new rooftop tent for full-body massages.
