• The ceiling pendant is a vintage, mid-century-modern Sputnik Starburst from the client’s own collection.
• The shower and tub fixtures are from Restoration Hardware’s Spritz collection.
• The white tiles are Carrara marble; the black are Negro Marquina. All are one-inch squares from the Tile Spark in Chelsea. No two black stripes are the same distance apart.
• A drawing by Austrian artist Valie Export inspired the pattern. It took three weeks to tile the room by hand.
