Museum or Mushroom Farm?
Situ Studio, the Brooklyn-based experimental design and fabrication firm, is kicking off the renovation of the Brooklyn Museum’s great hall by transforming its columns into oversize fungi. The installation, “re:Order: An Architectural Environment,” converts the museum’s signature space into a surrealist lounge where visitors can sit under massive suspended canvas canopies. When you’re done marveling, move along to “Thinking Big: Design Acquisitions,” a new installation of 20th- and 21st-century objects pulled from the museum’s collection of decorative arts, including Jeroen Verhoeven’s “Cinderella” table to Wendell Castle’s “Nirvana” armchair (200 Eastern Pkwy., at Washington Ave., Prospect Heights; “re: Order” from 3/4-1/15; “Thinking Big” from 3/4-5/29; suggested donation $10; 718-638-5000).

Houston; 212-204-7100).
