Oklahoma May Be Following Arizona’s Lead

Conservative lawmakers in Oklahoma have said they are planning to introduce a bill that is similar to Arizona’s hotly debated immigration law. Republican state representative Randy Terrill said today there are “several bills that could be amended to insert the new language,” according to the Huffington Post. The bill would likely include asset seizure and forfeiture provisions for immigration-related crimes, as well as more severe penalties for immigrants caught with guns, he said. Like clockwork, civil-rights groups in Oklahoma responded with protests that the law would encourage racial profiling. [HuffPo]
