New York Law Groups Not Thrilled About Arizona Conference

The American Bar Association is set to hold a conference in Phoenix next week, unless protestations by participating law groups force it to find a new location. New York’s City Bar Justice Center has pulled out, and the city’s Legal Aid Society has expressed concerns with the venue, in light of Arizona’s new illegal-immigration law. Somewhat ironically, a panel discussion on pro bono representation for immigrants was to take place at the conference, but five out of six panelists are no longer attending. Now the “panel” consists of just one guy, and he’s reconsidering. [New York Law Journal via Law.com]
