Conservative evangelist Glenn Beck will take his popular daily television show and re-create it on the Internet, he’ll announce today. According to the Times’ Brian Stelter, the outgoing Fox News host will launch a subscription-based website that will host various scripted and unscripted shows available only online. “I think we might be a little early,” Beck said of the network, which he’ll call GBTV and which will cost $5 to $10. “But I’d rather be ahead of the pack than part of it.” Beck will continue his daytime radio show and will continue in his 5 p.m. slot, launching a two-hour show in September that will compete — albeit indirectly because of the medium — with whomever replaces him on Fox News. Also, somewhat awesomely, there will be a show on GBTV devoted to the making of the network, much like Oprah: Behind the Scenes on the OWN network. “If you’re a fan of Jon Stewart, you’re going to find something on GBTV that you’re going to enjoy,” Beck said. “If you’re a fan of 24, you’re going to find something on GBTV that you’re going to enjoy.” How is it possible the latter is more believable than the former?
