Three-year-old Bella Santorum, who has a rare genetic disorder known as Trisomy 18, has been admitted to the hospital again, for the second time since January, when she was treated for pneumonia. In a statement, Santorum’s spokesman says, “The family requests prayers and privacy as Bella works her way to recovery.” According to NBC News, “The Santorums have medical equipment in their Virginia home and and a nurse on call that can tend to Bella. Because of these accommodations, Bella only needs to be taken to the hospital when her condition is very serious.”
