Lloyd Blankfein Finally the Subject of Jamie Dimon’s Bonus Envy

Goldman Sachs CEO Lloyd Blankfein’s bonus swelled by 90 percent in 2012, finally surpassing that of J.P. Morgan CEO Jamie Dimon, which shrunk by half, thanks to the London Whale debacle. Consisting of $13.3 million in restricted stock and $5.7 million in cash, Blankfein’s $19 million bonus plus his $2 million salary made for a hefty $21 million in total compensation. Meanwhile, Dimon “had his pay slashed in half to $11.5 million because of a trading loss even as J.P. Morgan reported a third year of record profit,” Bloomberg reports. So for the first time in five years, Blankfein can wave around a bigger bonus than Dimon’s.
