Geoff Webster, deputy editor of Rupert Murdoch’s U.K. tabloid The Sun, is the latest to be charged for bribing public officials in the multi-pronged investigation of News Corp., which is still going on. Part of the reason it’s taking so long and they’re still finding to people to arrest might be that the alleged crimes continued even after the probe began: According to the charges, Webster authorized payments totaling $12,083 ending in August 2011, a month after the bribery investigation started. Maybe it was unfinished business, but either way: bold.
