Marco Rubio: I’m Ready to Be President, But So Are a Lot of People

Much like Rand Paul, Marco Rubio isn’t being very coy about his desire to run for president in 2016, and in an interview that aired Sunday on ABC’s This Week, he hit all the important points for a potential GOP presidential candidate. In addition to declaring that Hillary Clinton was a failure as secretary of state and making another dig at Paul for planning to run for the senate and presidency simultaneously, Rubio dismissed concerns about climate change without explicitly denying that humans have some effect on the planet. “I do not believe that human activity is causing these dramatic changes to our climate the way these scientists are portraying it,” he said. Now, Rubio just needs to work on his confidence.

The Florida senator was asked twice if he thinks he’s ready to be president, and both times he quickly declared, “I do,” but followed up with a caveat. “I think that’s true for multiple other people that would want to run,” said Rubio. “I think a president has to have a clear vision of where the country needs to go, and clear ideas about how to get it there and I think we’re very blessed in our party to have a number of people that fit that criteria.” So vote for Rubio in 2016 … or Chris Christie, or maybe Jeb Bush. Those guys have some good ideas too.
