Republican National Committee chairperson Reince Priebus has done a lot to help his party’s misogynistic, racist, ignorant, dictator-worshiping, nuclear-war-curious conspiracy-mongering nominee. But Trump has now crossed an important line: He told a reporter he’s not yet ready to endorse the sainted Paul Ryan in his primary race. A New York Times story reports, in its headline, “Donald Trump’s Refusal to Endorse Paul Ryan Is Said to Enrage Reince Priebus.”
When you get to the story itself, we learn that Priebus is considering some drastic steps indeed:
Mr. Priebus is debating the best way to demonstrate solidarity with Mr. Ryan, ranging from a formal endorsement to an email publicly stating his support, said three people with knowledge of Mr. Priebus’s internal discussions.
An email praising Paul Ryan seems like a pretty major overreaction. Maybe just a text? Snapchat?
