Profile

Commune with a generous handful of Van Gogh paintings, any day of the week, in these two adjoining rooms at the Met. Oleanders (1888) and the self-portrait are probably the best ones. (You can see The Starry Night at MoMA, too, of course, if you fight the flocking tourists, but 823 and 826 are often nearly empty.)
