When you simply cannot wait until dawn to start detoxifying from the night’s martini-and-Marlboro bender, there’s Juvenex, a 24-hour spa-cum-hangover-cure located in the heart of Little Korea. The architecturally groundbreaking 5,000-square-foot facility is busiest by day, but you won’t be the only one dropping in at 3 a.m. to sweat it out inside the baked-clay sauna, the twenty-ton Jade Igloo sauna, or the diamond-shaped glass steam room. Night owls P. Diddy, Sofia Coppola, Tiki Barber, and those lovable Queer Eye guys have all crossed the curving, California-redwood bridge into the swirling, central bathing space that glitters with semi-precious green tiles. Prior to facials, massages, and skincare treatments, guests dunk themselves into communal hot and cold soaking ponds filled with sake, algae, noni, or ginseng. Along with standard nail services, more esoteric, internationally-inspired treatments such as the Asian Gyno Spa Cure Remedy are also on the menu. Since the bathing area is women-only from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. (co-ed thereafter), first-timers are wise to check their modesty along with their street clothes. Bathing suits (required during co-ed hours) may be permitted and robes provided, but on the Jade Journey, there’s quite a bit of unchecked flesh�including your own. — Amanda Pressner
