Peter Shaffer’s Amadeus turned composer Antonio Salieri into a famous villain, but to Mozart’s genius librettist Lorenzo Da Ponte he was just another writing partner. Da Ponte banged together four librettos in 1789, including Mozart’s immortal Così Fan Tutte. The small but hardy Dell’Arte Opera Ensemble resurrects another of that year’s hits, Salieri’s tale of love amid the Scottish moors. — Justin Davidson
