Discover gingerbread at the New York Botanical Garden. Use all senses to experience the spices and other plant parts that make up a classic gingerbread recipe. Tots will learn that cinnamon comes from tree bark and ginger is a root/underground stem. Participants grind spices, make sachets and ornaments, and decorate gingersnap cookies in a holiday-decorated setting: Expect trains and a big evergreen. — Alexandra Zissu
