Review

Daniel Karslake’s angry but empathetic documentary explores the unholy alliance between homosexuality and religion. His specific focus on familiesparticularly Christian families with gay and lesbian childrensmartly pulls the documentary away from posture and rhetoric and into more intimate territory. The specific stories (including the one of Chrissy Gephardt and her political family) often play out like group-therapy sessionsfor the better.
