Entrepreneur Tom Geniesse has geared his wine shop toward consumers with one of two questions to consider: What am I eating tonight and who am I buying this for? With these thoughts in mind, he's organized his 365 wines by their compatibility with takeout Chinese, Mexican, etc. (local menus included); by the type of entrée be it fish, chicken, or meat; and by the nature of the gift-giving. There's also a wall that sorts the same bottles by country. Plus, whichever process you favor, each bottle is accompanied by detailed tasting notes and ratings that can be supplemented by books in the reading area for sale or on-site research. — Alexandra Vallis
