Christina Kolbe opened Malfalda in 2010 as a showcase for one-of-a-kind vintage pieces with a retro feel. Her collection concentrates on the 1960s and 1970s, and although it’s small it’s also plenty broad�with labels ranging from Levi’s to Valentino�and plenty deep�with handbags, shoes, and accessories to complement every look. Kolbe rotates her merchandise almost constantly, so one day might find several varieties of printed denim on the racks, while another might turn up a nice selection of cocktail dresses. Copper sculptures, white-washed brick, and worn leather Bauhaus furniture set the retail mood. — Jillian Goodman
