Profile
For those who don't want their commute to end, this cavernous below-ground store in Boerum Hillthere's also a satellite location in Grand Central Terminaloffers plenty of colorful, subway-themed goodies to bring home. The bulk of the collection is devoted to line-specific T-shirts, caps, mugs, and magnetseach plastered with the circular logo of a given route. But designs utilizing the iconic subway map are equally popular, making it possible to get directions by glancing at your mouse pad, oven mitt, or even vinyl shower curtain. Kids will relish the many (non-MTA) train toys and books, while adults may fancy the modest assortment of cuff links, bracelets, and keychains made with actual pre-MetroCardera tokens. There are books for grown-ups, as well, describing the construction of Grand Central, the subway, and bus system, though the selection is pretty sparse.
