After spotting each other around vintage fairs for years, Billie Madley and Suzanne Pettit discovered that they not only shared a passion for dated wares, but also the same birth date. The petite pair opened this seventies-inspired vintage shop in 2006 for renegades and living dolls, naming it after the English term of endearment. The store is known for its assortment of towering, disco-ready platforms; wood-heel pumps from Maud Frizon; Betsey Johnson and Albert Capraro dresses; and bold floral-print blouses. The apparel is arranged by color on racks, and striking pairs of shoes share shelf space with oddball objects like peacock feathers, a lip-shaped telephone, and vintage knickknacks. Madley is a former actress and burlesque dancer and Pettit is a costumer, so the shop draws a fashionable clientele of film-industry insiders and models (including Agyness Deyn, who has an apartment nearby).
