Profile
The American minimalist designer’s first flagship store is 1,500 square feet of bags, shoes, and ready-to-wear women’s clothing in warm neutrals, along with quite a bit of crocodile leather, ostrich, and snakeskin. In the first room, a 15-foot display is filled with the classic boxer bag in all variations, such as a tan leather number lined with shearling; Krakoff’s seasonal bags, such as alligator hobos and silver and leather clutches, fill up the rest of the room. The middle section of the store contains streamlined pumps, strappy sandals, bold bangles and cocktail rings while the intimate back room houses most of the brand’s ready-to-wear collection, with silk-wool-velvet combinations for fall that get switched out for items made from lighter textures in spring and summer. The brand’s signature grey moves from the clothes to the furniture, while the wood floors, modest table lamps and plush wool chairs make the entire store feel like your own high-end walk-in closet.
