Profile
A lot of people walk into the store and don’t recognize anything, claims owner Nick DiMinno. That’s fine with him. For DiMinno, this is a chance to introduce lesser-known varietals, new distributors, and small-production wineries. Value is a top consideration for the stock of roughly 400 labels with about half of his picks costing $20 or less. (Check out Murphy’s Law Grenache-Syrah blend from David O’Reilly in Columbia River Valley.) The shop itself is quite spacious with virtually no decoration; it’s in a part of Park Slope where the transition from botanicas and laundromats to yoga studios and mimosa brunches is still in process. So for now, you’ll have to look to the higher shelves for the higher-end choices, like Cabernet from Caymus and Quilceda Creek.
ExtraTastings are held every Saturday, 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
