The sleek surfaces and clean lines of post�World War II European furniture govern the collection at this second-floor loft showroom. When it opened in 2006, the store predominantly carried Danish designers, such as Hans J. Wegner and Arne Jacobsen, but now also imports pieces from Italy and Germany. Suite New York deals exclusively in high-end modern classics, like the iconic �egg� chair�a simple, rounded shape that cradles the sitter. The clean lines of the beds, handmade rugs, and steel-and-glass tables on display will feel right at home in the sleekest of downtown lofts. Though some of the items are in stock at the showroom’s suburban warehouse, most must be shipped directly from European factories. Industry types�like the architects and designers who worked on the nearby Chanel store and the Gansevoort Hotel�make most of the purchases, but the deeply-pocketed, design-hounding public is welcome to shop here, too. — Rachel Corbett
