Profile
Founded in 1994 by James Jebbia, who also helms Stussy just a few blocks away, Supreme caters to die-hard skateboarders from around the world. Geared mainly toward boys and men, Supreme sells high-end equipment by Independent and Venture, as well as the fiercely sought-after Nike SB sneaker line (available only in skateboard shops); and plenty of skateboarding garb, including their own, much-coveted Supreme clothing line. The boxy, white-and-chrome accented store sells all manner of well-made streetwearT-shirts, pants, jackets, sweaters, hats and hoodiesfrom brands like Girl/Chocolate and the hip, standoffish sales crew and clamorous music weed out parents and putzes. Cool-seeking Japanese fashion-hounds notwithstanding, Supreme’s focus is pure skater rat.
