This chichi clothier and �lifestyle boutique� for small dogs (and the occasional cat) elevates pet pampering to a new plane. Opened in 2002 by a former Dior exec and a Parisian restaurant owner, the luxe shop displays its pooch accessories atop French antiques. Chouchou, the owners’ dog and the inspiration for the boutique, greets visitors at the door. The all-natural biscuit bar resembles a doggy Dean & DeLuca, offering homemade blueberry crisps; peanut-butter biscuit;, bacon, egg, and cheese bones; and Cheddar-flavored Eiffel Tower treats. Much of the merchandise caters to New York tastes, like a plush toy shaped like bagel with cream cheese or a miniature hardwood and micro-suede �Manhattan sofa� for pets. For shoppers unprepared to invest in a pet sofa, plush floor pillows and reversible Haute Pooch dog beds are available in a variety of colors. Styled-out leashes and collars come in leather or Hamptons-ready palm tree, polka dot, or bumblebee prints. But the main attraction is the store’s wholesale line of dog coats (custom fitted up to 30 inches long), ranging from nylon raincoats and waterproof polyurethane jackets to faux fur fleeces. — Erika Lindsey
