It all started with a T-shirt. Russell Simmons's Phat Farm
label produced tiny tees with the clever name Baby Phat for
its men's runway shows. When celebrities and models such as
Tyra Banks and Claudia Schiffer started wearing them, it became
clear that an entire Baby Phat collection was needed, and Simmons's
wife, Kimora Lee, was appointed creative director of the line
in 2000.
