Behnaz Sarafpour has been moving up the fashion ladder: She started working for Anne Klein before she'd even graduated from Parsons School of Design. During her time at Anne Klein, she worked with such designers as Narciso Rodriguez, Louis Dell'Olio and Richard Tyler, who imparted a strong sense of craft to the fledgling designer. In 1994, Behnaz moved to Isaac Mizrahi as senior designer, after which she set out on her own designing the Barneys New York Collection. Anna Wintour of Vogue has said that she is on radar to become the next big thing. She is known for lacework and modern romanticism. She was nominated in both 2002 and 2003 for the Perry Ellis Award for Emerging Talent at the CFDA Awards.
