Bob Mackie's reputation was built on dressing some of the
most famous stars in the entertainment industry, and now his
collections are available to everyone. Mackie launched his first
ready-to-wear collection in 1982; the line grew rapidly to include
fragrances, eyewear, furs, and various fashion accessories.
In the nineties, Mackie added a line of knitwear, eveningwear,
suits, a new fragrance, men's ties, handbags, scarves, watches,
jewelry, and stationery. His position in the fashion world reached
a high point in 1999 with the launch of his made-to-order couture
collection.
