The son of architects, Peter Som is known for his clean lines and a sense of sleek sophistication. Som's use of cashmere, chiffon, and fox-fur trimmings evoke a luxurious femininity, and highlights of his Fall 2003 collection include bias-cut skirts, shoulder-baring sweaters, ribbon-laced waists, and long knit scarves. The 32-year old designer launched his first women's wear collection in 1999 after having worked for Bill Blass, Michael Kors, and Calvin Klein. Featured on HBO's Sex and the City, Som's designs reflect his desire to create clothes that are simple, wearable and -- of course -- sexy.
