I've got
my Manolo's ready and rarin' to go. Fashion Week Spring 2004
is upon us!
I'm looking
forward to seeing the latest flirty styles from Rebecca
Taylor, Catherine
Malandrino,
Diane Von Furstenberg, and
Vivienne Tam. I love the way their clothes fit |
m.r.s.
Molly Stern's designs are so comfy and flattering. Congrats
to Molly on her recent marriage! |
I can't
wait to see Amir Slama's sexy swimwear for Rosa Cha |
I can't
wait to see the exciting fashion shows that are "shows" (as
in non-stop entertainment) -
Heatherette,
House of Field, and Baby
Phat. I hear Heatherette
is expecting a surprise guest or two! |
Last
season, I loved
Carolina Herrera's and Narciso
Rodriguez's sophisticated creations, so I'm curious
to see what they'll be up to for spring. |
It's always
a full house at Marc
Jacobs' show but with good reason - his clothes are
cool and so "right now." |
I want
to keep an eye on newcomers Jennifer Nicholson (yes,
Jack's daughter), Twinkle, and Tess Giberson.
I'm amazed
that Yeohlee
churned out a new collection and a new book in the same season.
Let's
see if Zang
Toi can top his Japanese kabuki-inspired show from February.
The Proenza
Schouler label is on a roll so I want to see what their
follow-up to last season's hit show will be. |
Of course
I won't want to miss Ralph,
Donna
and Calvin.
Plus it's Kenneth
Cole's 20th anniversary! |

The excitement
is in the air and like horses in the starting gate, we're waiting
with anticipation to see what several designers will be offering
this season...

Michael
Vollbracht is the new name at Bill
Blass, and he understands exactly who his customer
is and aims to please. He has Blass good looks, charm, and more
importantly, his same point of view on style. I can't wait to
check out his first collection. |
Another
esteemed fashion house where the designer turnover has given
us whiplash is Halston.
The new name on the door is Bradley Bayou who goes for big,
bold color that's already given him a celebrity following. |
When designer
Charles Nolan left Anne
Klein for the Howard Dean campaign he was replaced by
Michael Smaldone. Smaldone is the king of suitsa look
that has finally returned. |
Others
we are looking forward to: Talented newcomers
Proenza Schouler (so young, so exciting) and Chado
by Ralph Rucci, who is finally being recognized for
the major talent that he is.
