Funny thing, film festivals. When Cannes unveiled its lineup, Steven Soderbergh’s double dose of Che films, The Argentine and Guerrilla, immediately shot to the top of everyone’s can’t-wait-to-see lists. But the announcement that the new Indiana Jones flick, already plagued by grumblings about running time, would also be premiering at the fest (alongside Kung Fu Panda) led to audible groans. (Still, we’ll be first in line to see it back home.) It’s a severe case of simultaneous backlash-buzz. Meanwhile, Lost proves there’s life after total fan meltdown.
