Cyclist in critical condition after Perth crash

A 58-year-old male cyclist remains in a critical condition in hospital after a collision with a car in Perth city centre.

The incident, which involved the cyclist and a white Kia Sportage, happened at about 22:45 on Saturday on Canal Street.

The cyclist was taken to Ninewells Hospital in Dundee, while the driver of the car was uninjured.

The road was closed for about five hours as a result of the incident.

Sgt Mike Guild said: "Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances of the crash, and we are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the incident to come forward.

"We would also ask anyone who may have dash-cam footage from the area around the time of the crash to contact us as it could assist with our enquiries."
