Brave New World: American Theatre Responds to 9/11
An army of the stage's brightest stars (Sam Waterston, Meredith Monk, Neil LaBute, Edie Falco, and many more) will premiere tragedy-inspired work during a three-day marathon to benefit the New York Children's Foundation.

24 Hour Plays
The workshop-in-hyperspeed is now in its seventh year (plays are written, cast, and rehearsed in 24 hours). Participants this time include Julianne Moore, Billy Crudup, Marisa Tomei, and Fisher Stevens. Proceeds will benefit the September 11th children's charity, Working Playground.

Musicians for Harmony
The Guarneri Quartet, the Juilliard Quartet, the Shanghai Quartet, and the newly formed Middle Eastern ensemble Musique Sans Fronti�res present a concert for peace.

Bagpipe and Drum Processional to Ground Zero
At dawn, five bagpipe and drum processionals will begin to march toward the WTC site from points in each borough. Each group will be led by one govermental agency: The Fire Department of New York, the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, the NYPD and the City Corrections and Sanitation Departments. Official City Memorial Service
After a moment of silence at 8:46am (signifying the time that the first plane struck), Governor Pataki will read "The Gettysburg Address." Subsequently, former Mayor Guiliani will recite the names of the 2,823 victims. Following the playing of Taps, Governor McGreevey of New Jersey will then read excerpts from the "Declaration of Independence." Victims of the families are invited to attend. Mayor Bloomberg recites FDR�s "Four Freedoms"
President Bush and heads of state from around the world will join Mayor Bloomberg as he reads Franklin D. Roosevelt�s "Four Freedoms." The lighting of an eternal flame will follow. For more information, please visit www.nyc.gov.

Evening Candlelight Vigils and Musical Performances
After sunset, candlelight gatherings and musical performances will be held at city parks in each of the five boroughs.

Wheels of Hope
This four-day bike ride begins at the Pentagon on September 8 and will end in New York on September 11. All proceeds raised will benefit the Windows of Hope Family Relief Fund. TeamRed's exact route through the city has not been determined yet, but this group says "We're certain NYC's energy will move us to the end-line of our tribute - Ground Zero."

Let Freedom Run Race
The Mayor and Governor will be the co-chairs of this 4-mile run in honor of those who lost their lives in the attacks. The route begins at Hudson River Park's Pier 84 at 44th Street and continues down the West Side Highway to its finish in Battery Park.

Candlelight Procession at the San Gennaro Festival
Last year marked the first time that the festival has been cancelled since its inception in 1926. This year the feast of the patron Saint of Naples returns for its 75th anniversary and will hold a special mass in memory of the attacks. The traditional candlight procession of the San Gennaro statue will also be dedicated to the victims of the WTC tragedy.
