
3/22/2000: Fourteen PA/PR staffers have joined Quinn Gillespie & Assocs., Washington, D.C., which opened Jan. 4. The firm is led by Jack Quinn and Ed Gillespie, each of whom has held senior positions in the Republican and Democratic parties.
2/1/01: The bipartisan lobbying firm Quinn, Gillespie & Associates has hired one new Republican and one new Democrat. The Republican is Marc Lampkin, a top aide to the Bush presidential campaign. The Democrat is Marti Thomas, the former assistant secretary for legislative affairs and public liaison at the Treasury Department. She also served as executive floor assistant to House Minority Leader Gephardt.
3/29/01: Quinn Gillespie & Associates has hired Kyle Simmons, previously deputy political director for the Bush-Cheney campaign.
5/20/03: Quinn Gillespie & Associates has expanded its staff by four, including Jim Morrell, director of communications for Rep. Rob Portman, R-Ohio. Before joining Portman, Morrell had been a speechwriter for Education Secretary Paige and for House Speaker Hastert.
5/29/03: Quinn Gillespie & Associates has snagged J. David Hoppe, longtime aide to Sen. Trent Lott.
1/19/05: Terry Holt, spokesman for President Bush’s reelection campaign and a senior adviser to the Republican National Committee, is joining Quinn Gillespie.
6/9/05: Quinn Gillespie & Associates is bringing on Stuart Holliday, most recently U.S. ambassador to the United Nations for special political affairs.
5/16/06: Kevin Kayes has joined Quinn Gillespie & Associates as a lobbyist. Kayes was chief counsel for Sen. Harry Reid, D-Nev.
11/1/08: Patrick Von Bargen is a new director at Quinn Gillespie & Associates. He will deal with two hot issues: energy and financial services. Von Bargen earned his chops on energy as chief of staff to Sen. Jeff Bingaman, now chairman of the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee.
10/6/10: Quinn Gillespie and Associates announced today that John Feehery has been made a director at the firm and named president of QGA Communications. Feehery held a variety of communications roles with House leadership that include speechwriting for House Minority Leader Bob Michel, communications director for House Majority Whip Tom DeLay, and top spokesman for Speaker J. Dennis Hastert.
1/26/11: Quinn Gillespie & Associates announced today that Adam Belmar, former deputy communications director for President George W. Bush and former senior producer of the ABC television programs This Week With George Stephanopoulos and Good Morning America, is joining the firm as a director.
4/13/11: Quinn Gillespie & Associates announced today the hire of Joe Dagher as a senior associate for the firm’s government-affairs group. Dagher served as legislative aide for Banking and Housing in the office of U.S. senator Bob Corker.
9/13/11: QGA Public Affairs announced today that Jim Manley will join the firm as a senior director in both the communications and government-affairs groups. As a senior communications adviser and spokesman for the majority leader [Harry Reid], Jim spent six years at the nexus of politics and policy for every issue facing the Senate.
2/1/13: QGA Public Affairs announced today that Michael DiRoma has joined the firm as a senior associate. DiRoma most recently served as a law clerk for the House Committee on Ways and Means.
