According to a report just released by the USDA, New York State is under attack from nonnative wild boars (“feral swine” began spreading from the South twenty years ago; the boars here may have gone awol from private game preserves in Pennsylvania). The snouty interlopers join an ever-growing menagerie of species that have already arrived to mess with our waterways, airspace, and general well-being.
