Team Efforts

1. Bronx Museum of the Arts
“Manicurated: A Project by Judi Werthein” requires audience participation: Werthein has installed a nail salon giving out free manicures – or “nail art” designs – reproducing works in the museum’s collection. (1040 Grand Concourse; through May 26.)

2. Deitch Projects
Chris Verene and Christian Holstad have joined up for “The Self-Esteem Salon – The Baptism Series,” in which the two will dunk “lucky infants” and offer various psychotherapies to grown-ups, who will then be photographed in a fantasy portrait session. (76 Grand Street; through April 20.)

3. Whitney Biennial
Praxis (Delia Bajo and Brainard Carey), the duo who give out free services like hugs and foot washes from their East Village storefront, will distribute goodies at the Whitney on Sundays through April 21 and on Fridays from April 26 to May 24. (945 Madison Avenue, at 75th Street; through May 26.)

4. Andrew Kreps Gallery
Peter Coffin’s first solo New York show includes a greenhouse where musicians and artists come to meet, perform, and attempt to communicate with the plants. (516A West 20th Street; through April 20.)

5. Swiss Institute
The union of Ugo Rondinone and Urs Fischer with New York poet John Giorno has resulted in a steel platform displaying Fischer’s work “seemingly caught in a state of flux and unrest” as recorded verse (read by Giorno) plays. (495 Broadway, near Broome Street; through May 11.)
